Dr. Anthony Mina is a podiatrist practicing in Southwest Florida. Dr. Mina grew up in Fort Myers and is thrilled to be back in his hometown providing comprehensive foot and ankle care. After earning his bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Miami and Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Temple University, Dr. Mina served as chief resident at a three-year residency in podiatric medicine and surgery and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery located in Bristol, PA. He is highly trained in the treatment of bunions, hammertoes, heel pain, ankle pain, Achilles injury, neuropathy, ingrown nails, wounds, fungus, sprains, fractures, and diabetic care. He and his team are happy to accept new patients.
Dr. Mina describes a good podiatrist as a fountain of youth. "If you can walk around independently and without pain, then you will always feel young. It's my job to keep you young, independent, and pain-free." He chose this field of medicine because he enjoys the balance between clinical and surgical work and the ability to make people feel less pain and keep walking. Joining Associates in Medicine & Surgery has been a very special journey for him, as he had been looking forward to taking part in the family business since he was young. Seeing the way his father Dr. John Mina and cousin Dr. John Lawlor were able to help their patients as he was growing up inspired him to become a physician himself and continue their legacy of quality, compassionate patient care.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Mina is a dedicated musician and world traveler. He has been helping with his father's archaeology and paleontology expeditions since childhood, and he has been adventuring on his own since his late teens. He has studied and worked abroad in Italy, Russia, and China, and he is passionate about immersing himself in local cultures and learning their languages and culinary and musical traditions. Dr. Mina is proficient in Italian and Spanish and is currently studying Russian and Chinese.
