DeWayne Lockhart, Jr., M.D.
Dr. DeWayne Lockhart was born in Akron, Ohio and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Lockhart is a talented artist who loves oil painting, photography, and compressed charcoal drawing. He has submitted works which have been displayed in galleries across the United States. He graduated from the Nation’s most culturally diverse High School as Valedictorian. He was also an All-State varsity golf with a +2Handicap index and team captain 3yrs,Varsity football MVP. Dr. Lockhart attended Emory University and transferred to Georgia State University as a Presidential Scholar, graduated Magna Cum Laude, Biology Major Chemistry Minor. He then attended The University of Alabama Birmingham as Honors Student and Scholarship Recipient where he earned his medical doctorate. After completing medical school Dr. Lockhart trained at Loyola University Medical Center 3 years training in neurosurgery. He then continued medical residency training in Anesthesia at Froedtert Hospital and the Medical College of Wisconsin followed by Fellowship Trained in Neuro-Anesthesiology at MCW in Anesthesia. In pursuit of medical excellence Dr. Lockhart completed another fellowship in Interventional Pain Management at The University of Miami and Jackson Health Systems. In 2014, Dr. Lockhart joined Associates in Medicine and Surgery.
Dr. Lockhart is an active University of Miami Voluntary Professor for Anesthesiology and Pain Management, American Red Cross Blood Drive Coordinator, Student National Medical Association community health program and Sacred Heart volunteer, West-End Medical Center Asthma Walk artist and coordinator, Mentor Against Violence in Schools, Tutor for after school programs in science and mathematics, Mentor for medical students, residents, and fellows, Inner City Junior Golf Academy founder and First Tee pioneer. Resident member of Congress of Neurological Surgeons and American Academy of Neurological Surgeons. Resident/Fellow member of AMA, Member American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA), and Florida Society of Anesthesiologists. Department of Anesthesiology Annual Golf Championship host and coordinator, and new member to The Collier County Medical Society.

Dr. Flanagan’s interests in pain management revolve around the restoration of his patient’s overall well-being. There is a clear connection between our physical and mental health, which helps guide his multidisciplinary approach to the healing of pain. He has special interests in sports and nutrition, which also help guide his therapeutic approach.
He is highly skilled at interventional procedures to decrease pain associated with muscle, joint and nerve disorders. These procedures include but are not limited to – injections, central nerve stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation, nerve blocks, sympathetic plexus blocks and radiofrequency ablation.
